Art, projects, and the HUGE switch: 2009 recap.
January 1, 2010
I had a great year and it was such a roller coaster. At the beginning, I was still an art major learning graphic design and getting my portfolio ready for Otis. SO MUCH HAS CHANGED since then.
Starting from January of this year:
I sent in my resume/admissions essay/portfolio to Otis College of Art and Design.
I was in 3D Art and Design, Sculpture 141, Digital Media and Design, Photography 120, and (General Ed.) English 101 for Spring semester at OCC.
Projects I did:
3D art/design
This was my favorite project. Assignment was to create a model of a character that you are most afraid of and where the monster would be used. I chose to use this monster in animation.
Photography

I had better stuff... I just can't find them.

final project: Environmental shapes.
DMAD

Photomanipulation and surrealism. HORRIBLE picture quality cause my scanner/printer wont work. So I photographed this.
Sculpture

I don't know what happened to this project. A piece broke off from it.
This was all I had to show for the work I did that Spring. As you can see, I don’t care much for my work after the class is over, especially since I switched majors.
Got fired from Red Robin Gourmet Burgers in April.
Got hired at Abercrombie and Fitch as their new model a couple of days after.
Quit without two weeks notice from A&F in June.
Got hired on the spot at Hollister Co. in July.

Otis Main Building.
JUNE: I got my acceptance letter from Otis… But realized I didn’t want to do JUST art for the rest of my life. Wasn’t practical enough for me, I guess.

Went to Lake Arrowhead for the week with friends in August and had a blast.

Part of the gang that went to Arrowhead.
Then started work with Hollister people after that.
I bought my first car insurance!
Starting driving the old beater Honda to school on August 30 :] and I parked awesomely!
Switched my major to civil engineering. Why? I will explain later.
Started off with 5 classes this fall semester. Ended it with 4.
Went to Bolsa Chica Wetlands with classmates and had a miserable but fun time.
Didn’t do anything for Halloween.
Spent Thanksgiving with Jon’s family.
Spent Xmas with my family.
Went snowboarding with Jon last week (no pictures..)
Spent New Year’s Eve with Jon :)
My life is really, really boring.
That’s why my New Year’s Resolution this year is 1) save up money, 2) Go somewhere outside of Orange County, and 3) Go somewhere outside of the US.
And I am going to make this a recurring resolution.

I had no idea you had a blog! I just started one. I pretty much have a similar New Year’s resolution, so maybe we could stop being boring together! I need to get out more.

HAHAHA! Yeah! see, i’ve been trying to hang out with people but they always say “we can go clubbing” or “movie night at my house.”
Not that movie nights aren’t fun, it’s just Liz and them usually don’t stick to the plan LOL
I’m saving up for a wetsuit so I can go surfing. it’s cheaper than snowboarding :) and the ocean is FREE! Wanna come?

I think the not keeping to movie night thing is my fault. I had told Liz I wanted to have one and I think she told you, but I postponed it until sometime later this winter break, when my mom would be comfortable with it.
Anywho, yeah. I’d love to go surfing. I don’t have a wetsuit or board, but I can work something out. Maybe we should get Kanica into the mix. Her and I had always talked about going surfing together. Plus I know she has a board. Maybe even TWO.

Alright haha sounds good! I have been dying to go to the beach, but going alone is never fun. So I’m glad to hear you are up for it and to have Kanica in the mix isn’t a bad idea. AWWW I LOVE YOU GUYS!
